Silhouette SD works almost the same as the original Silhouette. The main difference aside from the colors is that now you are able to save all your images or projects in SD memory cards so you can take them anywhere. The hardware has 1 key difference which is a LCD screen.
The software has also been upgraded. The good news for owners of the previous tool is that there will be a  free software available for everyone. The software is Vista compatible but not MAC compatible.
